Our December luncheon get-together was held on Saturday, December 21st at Barney's Kitchen in Seneca, Missouri. We had 21 folks (and one junior operator) attending for lunch today. The photos below are "clickable" to view a larger image file.

Rex, KC5UVN shows us his Small Wonder Rock Mite in a home constructed case. |
Here is a view of Rex's Rock Mite with the top removed. The case is not much larger than the PC board. |
As usual at the FSQRP meetings, there is no boring business meeting. We get right to the fun stuff! There were many rigs, projects, books, and keys to pass around for show and tell.
|
Here is Rex's Rock Mite and NorCal paddle station, all dressed up and ready for action. Very nice! |
Rex also brought his Manhattan style Sidekick receiver project. This is a kit from the Ft. Smith QRP Group. |
Home brew and kit building are very much alive at the FSQRP Group. Each month we get to see what the gang has been working on. Who says that hams don't build any more?
|
Here is Jay, KØETC's tiny Ozark 20 CW transceiver. That is a quarter for size comparison. He has actually used this for on-the-air contacts. |
Jeanette and Tom Sevart, N2UHC shows us their homebrew 80 meter "Ham" rig. It is built in a canned ham tin. |

The insides of Tom's "Ham" rig, complete with internal battery. |
Tom also built this Small Wonder 20+ CW rig in a case from a CB radio. He has made many 20 meter contacts with this rig. |
|
Gene, NØMQ brought the newest addition to his Pittsburg, Kansas shack, a beautiful K2 transceiver. Foy KCØOCK is on the left. |
Gene built his Rock Mite into a Doug Hauff custom case. |
|
Russ NØQLT and his niece Haley on the left. Jason WØJWX right front, and JC K5DMI right rear, getting ready for lunch. |
Lunch time, the high point of the day! That's Joe WØMQY and Jim WBØIYC (waving) in the foreground. |

This month, many of the members brought surplus parts and goodies and we had a door prize drawing. Everybody went home with some new parts.

Because Barney's will be closed for vacation during January and February, our next two meetings will be held at alternative locations. The next meeting will be Saturday, January 18th at Redings Mill Inn, in Redings Mill, Missouri. Check the FSQRP home page for further information. See you there!
