December 2006

The December 4SQRP luncheon meeting was held December 16th at Cheddars restaurant in Joplin, Missouri.

Joe Porter brought a homebrew Mini-Whip receiving antenna for show and tell. This antenna was designed by Roelof Bakker, PAØRDT, for reception in the 10 KHz to 20 MHz spectrum. Construction information on this project is available on the web here (PDF file).

The following photos are "clickable" to view a larger image.

The Mini-Whip consists of a small piece of copper for the antenna and a 2-stage preamplifier. The completed antenna is enclosed in PVC pipe for weather protection.
