Field Day 2005 June 25 - 26, 2005 |
|
Field Day 2005 was at the Twin Bridges State Park in the northeast corner of Oklahoma. The park is located at the confluence of the Neosho and Spring rivers at the north end of Grand Lake. Our operating site was in the "Echo Hollow" camping area on the east side of highway 137. To see a locator map of the Twin Bridges area click here: Location Map
| Wayne KCØPMH, Shirley and friends came by on Saturday. | Jim, WØEB getting set to launch an antenna line with his new pneumatic launcher. |
Tom N2UHC, Jim WØEB, Dwight N3ARU and Ed WG5F came out on Friday and selected the FD site and started setting up the camp. Other 4SQRP'ers arrived on Saturday to help out and have some Field Day fun. WØEB's pneumatic antenna launcher got the lines up into the trees in short order.
| WØEB's antenna launcher in action! | Antenna line for the WØCH 88 foot EDZ going up and over. |
| Detail photo of the firing mechanism of Jim's pneumatic launcher. | The front end showing the fishing reel. The firing trigger is mounted on a PVC pipe handle behind the black tape. |
| WØEB's K2 and computer logging system worked great! | WØEB's 30 watt solar panel kept the K2's battery charged with power to spare. |
| Dwight N3ARU (seated) and Jay KØETC at Dwight's operating position. | N3ARU's 80 watt solar array. Nice! |
| N3ARU build this neat tripod mount for his Outbacker antenna. | Tom N2UHC taking a short break from the QRM on 20 meters CW. |
| Ed, WG5F getting the fire started for the evening feast. Ed's XYL Karen, W5KKM and son Kyle, K5YLE joined in the Field Day fun as well. | Here is Ed, WG5F busy at work on 40 meters CW in his camper trailer with all the comforts of home! |
